Before I so rudely interrupted myself in my enthusiasm for a night out… I was leading up to something. THINKING… all of my previous posts had been on thinking.
Have you ever noticed the wonder of the human mind is that most of us can adjust to anything. We have this ability to justify anything, THAT, to me is astounding.
We have an inner moral compass that most of us follow, but we can also choose to ignore it and or change it as we see fit.
Lately I have been thinking.
I know amazing isn’t it.
(My brain has a few different centers, instead of rent it would say Mortgage, instead of Diet Coke it would say Mountain Dew, instead of cars it would be ART and instead of Marc Jacobs it would say ’Do I really want to get dressed at all?’)
I’ve been thinking about myself. Who I am and what affect I have on the world. I like it. I like me. I Don’t always like where I am. But I have the wonderful ability to change that. After all I am woman hear me ROAR… right?
Alright so once again I was side tracked… O, the cleverness of ME.
My point is that our brains have this ability to accept and change, to adapt. There aren’t many of us that wouldn’t steal if we had to, to feed our families if they were starving. Even though stealing is against what we morally believe. What about killing someone? I can say I would never kill another, but if someone hurt my family or put them in a situation, I would kill if I had to, to defend myself or them.
Thinking… ever noticed too that the wonderful little guy we all have sitting on our shoulder called GUILT… I sometimes call mine Carl, that he’s all in our heads too. I listen to my guilt, I don’t particularly enjoy it but it lets me know when I’ve done something wrong that I have to fix.
If your someone else and your trying to make me feel guilty, forget about it, Carl only works for me. There’s nothing I can’t stand more then people who try to motivate by guilt.
Finally I’m coming to the crux of this pointless meander. JUSTIFICATION.
Have you ever done anything that you thought was wrong because you had a good reason for doing it?
Just wondering… Ang

Thinking is sooooo over-rated!

I think depending on what it is that I’ve done or want to do…I can justify most everything…except cheating on a spouse. In my book there is NO justification for that. I will usually give in to my selfish desires though…(especially where shopping and spending money is concerned.)
The mind is a wonderful thing!! Merry Christmas my sweet one!! Love ya!!

Ang,
Justification is there so that you can put your mind at ease and lessen that guilty feeling… seems like the story of my life lately!
It’s also there to get people off your back…! Not a bad thing actually *GRIN*
Thanks again for putting the word out about Joe! I have gotten some very nice comments and some heart wrenching messages from his family.
It is always comforting to have friends like you out there!

OF COURSE…Havent we all? Then there are those that will insist that they would NEVER EVER think bad things or for gosh sakes do them. I can honestly tell you…that no matter who they are…they have. As my husband in my previous life used to say…just do it…enjoy it…worry about the circumstances later
As Always…Have a Wonderful Day! Penny
In the timeless words of Gibby Haynes:
“Daddy, what does regret mean?
Well son, the funny thing about regret is,
It’s better to regret something you have done,
Than to regret something you haven’t done.
And by the way, if you see your mom this weekend,
Be sure and tell her, SATAN, SATAN, SATAN!!!”
Yep, and too many times, probably. We must share the same brain. When you’re done with it I need it for a while here soon, okay?
I have done that more times then I like to think about .We think that the end justifies the means .
I think everyone has. I know I have. They are the things I feel most guilty about.
