Karaoke was fun last night. I started off the evening winning a sweatshirt. I wanted the t-shirt that said ‘hold my hammer while I nail your girlfriend’ but the DJ wouldn’t let me have it. Instead I got the sweatshirt with The Big Easy written across the front… It was the name of the place we were at, not a description of the wearer…
My friend Angie did Etta James ‘At Last’ and it was great as usual, I thought by far the best performance of the evening. When her brother’s turn rolled around he was announced and we all started pounding on the table and chanting his name, where’s Chris… he’s up. They started playing his music and Chris slides out onto the stage in a long white dress shirt, white socks, sunglasses and yes, his tightie whities. To the music of ‘Old Time Rock and Roll’… the women in the audience went wild…it was fun to see him shake his stuff, but I’m thinking ‘This is the little boy I used to take frogging???’ His Mom turned to me and said I wondered why he wanted to make sure all of that was washed. This was hysterically funny to me on two levels. 1.) It’s his Mom. 2.) He is 27 and owns his own home…why is his Mom still doing his laundry?
Well I don’t know who won because I cut out early. I was turning into a pumpkin. Over all it was a great night. I think I’ve had my group activity fix for a couple of weeks… I definitely know I won’t miss the cigarette smoke…
Oh, did not get hit on. But not disappointed… I know I still got it. heeheehee
No pictures guys I’m sorry, my camera does not do well in bars… I know I’m a horrible disappointment as a Xangan…

Great post…reminds me of a horrible karaoke contest I was in back home. I was about to move to Nashville (because I’ve always fancied myself a singer) and I didn’t place in the contest. I had a little too much to drink and ended up venting (loudly) to a pal on the phone in the parking lot. “…and I didn’t even place! How can I not win a karaoke contest in a bowling alley in bumblef*ck, WI? Has the world gone CRAZY??” he he he…I got over it.
Sounds like you had a blast! I know what you mean about cutting out early and the smoke though, always nice to get back home. Glad you had so much fun.

Too fun! I turn into a pumpkin way before midnight, because I have to get up early and be mommy, but it’s fun to get out. I bet my mom would do my laundry if I asked her to, and I’m well past 27.

RYC….The wild turkeys are in a group of about 30-40…they eat everything from bird feed to the corn for the squirrels. Its such a mild winter here in Minnesota…How is it there? Ya got any white stuff to brag about? Its a good night at work … not so many crazies
