  • I’ve gone to look for myself. If I should return before I get back keep me here. -unknown

  • What do you do when the teacher says your child is brilliant, excels at ever subject but just won’t sit still in class? Well, you say that’s wonderful, obviously he needs to move to absorb. Can you move him to where he won’t be a distraction.

Then you bribe your child to be respectful of the teacher and other children.

That’s what I’m trying any way, in the mind of a seven year old, Yu-gi-oh cards are powerful motivation…

I know boring post but I got nothing…

The Edmond Fitzgerald sank on this day and Rolling Stone premiered it’s first issue…anyone know who was on the cover?

Here’s a cheat for some of you, BB61 has someone posted on his site that was relevant to who was on the cover.

PHOT0025 PHOT0021                  This is me. But you could tell couldn’t you.  Isabelle does doubles yup she’s creative.

PHOT0023 PHOT0024                        My Hubby, no he is not Walt Whitman    A flower for seedsower. I also did a fish and horse but  I was tired of taking pictures. I always thought these pin things were goofy and useless.(yes they still are) But they made for a good time in Kansas waiting for GG’s party and spending time with the family. Great fun. What can I say, I’m easily entertained but then you all knew that too.

Kansas was actually far more cultural then where I’m from. We had a really good time. I can’t wait to go back sometime.

  • Lessons on the Road

Things I learned on my trip.

-Never speed in Missouri. We saw twenty-two cruisers with people pulled over through the state, and that was just after we started counting, there were several before that.

    - Always make sure the heater in the pool at the hotel you are staying at is working…BRR…

-The beginning of November is a smelly time to be traveling in Iowa.(See previous post.)

-If you can’t find what your looking for through four other states, check at home. I wanted a picture of  a Belted Galloway cow. They look like giant oreo cookies with legs. I saw them on the last trip through Iowa on a different highway so I kept looking…nothing. We were almost home and driving by Reed City when there they were. Big beautiful oreo cookies. Wouldn’t you know it the batteries were dead in my camera. grrr…

    -Always carry extra camera batteries.

Pictures of how to spend an afternoon in Kansas are on the way. Ang

    EDIT***********************************************************************

If anyone really wants to see a Galoway, my freind Jellyring http://www.xanga.com/JELLYRING Has a picture!

  • What’s that smell???

Driving home through Iowa stopped for the night. Will hit the road again in the early a.m. after the kids have some splash time. Driving through Iowa has been an experience, I think every farmer in the state decided to plow and fertilize their field this weekend…Ugh.

  • Immaturity in Iowa…And into Missouri.

butthead signs 2 Slept through most of Iowa and when  I woke up I was greeted by a giant freeway gas sign advertising this. They are all over the state. If I lived here I probably would turn into Bevis… I seem to be channeling him a lot lately. Now be honest…If you saw these signs wouldn’t you?

butthead signs This would not be my first choice of eating establishment when on a road trip. Imagine being stuck in a car with four others for three more hours after you ate here…

Okay, taking my immature humor and hitting the hay. Coming to you safe and sound from Kansas. Ang

  • PHOT0033 sisters

    Me and D.

PHOT0018 First stop on road trip, visit the lil sis. Had some Opa and toured her school. More later. Ang

This is Coopers before and after haircut. I can never get a good picture because he sees the camera come out and he says Mama no, no, And starts pushing the camera away Which is ecactly what he’s doing in both of these pictures.lol Sorry about the page, I goofed and am way too lazy to fix it this morning. Ang

  • On the road again, just can’t wait to get on the road again…

Twelve to fifteen hours in a car with the monsters, I know someone who’s gonna have a really good day. (insert dripping sarcasm here.)

Actually call me crazy…I know some of you frequently do anyway…I’m really looking forward to this!

Goin to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come…

Oh, I’m in Detroit by the way, so already went through five hours. Only two of which were ‘Are we there yet?’

No I am not a horrible navigator. We have family here that’s worth the side trip. Isn’t that what road trips are all about? Well that and the cheesy tourist traps. wahoo can’t wait!

  • Okay, I’m 32 alright 34… and I’m at my parents house doing laundry. I thought those days were long past but I was wrong. We’re still having plumbing problems in the basement so the washer isn’t draining. It comes with the privilege of living in a house that is fifty some years old I guess.

I enjoy being at my parents house. They’ve only been here about two years now, but it was my Grandma’s house before theirs. They have changed it a bit, put in wood floors, tile and granite, basically just updated it but it feels like home. The house I grew up in my Pop built when I was going on two and they lived there for thirty some years. Its strange but I don’t miss it. I wonder what it looks like inside now that it’s someone elses but only once or twice have I even done that. I think it’s because my Mom, who I must say is a true artist when it comes to making a home look beautiful, has brought herself here. She sets up little vingettes that I look at and think, I never would have thought of that but man it looks nice. She doesn’t leave pop out either, you look around and there will be a fish here or a pheasant there. It just all blends. I guess when your together for thirty-seven years that happens.

Today on the way over here I was thinking how nice it would be just sitting here and vegging in a nice clean house where I felt no pressure to do anything. Wondering if Mom had anything in the fridge when it occurred to me that I had broken a habit, or rather had it broken for me.

In our old house anytime I went home I would have to look in the refrigerator. I wasn’t hungry. I just had to see what was there. Every time, I would walk in the door, be there for awhile and until I opened that stupid door it just didn’t feel right. I knew I was doing this and I would try not to open the door, after all it wasn’t my house. I think it’s invasive to walk into someone’s home and go through their food supplies. But it would be fun don’t you think, kind of like going through a guys wallet or a womans purse. It tells you something about whats going on with them.

Sorry got sidetracked. So I’ve been at my parents for about a half an hour and I haven’t opened the fridge, I’m so proud! As I’m writing this I realize that I did check the counter… I walk in here and I look at the kitchen counter. That’s where my Gram kept the good food, cookies and candy. Okay so I guess its the same habit different location. The good thing is Mom doesn’t keep sweets in the house.

So I’m going to sit here and cruise the cable The Pink Panthers Revenge is on I think I’ll watch that. Coopers in his pen happily munchin his apple, Grandma’s house candy of choice, watching Blue’s Clues..

    This isn’t so bad.
