Today was fun. My sister made me drag my butt out of bed at 6:30 to get ready to go to the parade in downtown Detroit. I have to say it was fun even though I was a bit tired. Those giant balloons are a lot more fun to see in person then on TV and there’s nothing like the whole crowd experience, the shoving and the squeezing shoulder to shoulder,to make you really appreciate your fellow man. I have to applaud the people of StarBucks and their crowd handling capabilities. They had people directing traffic to the bathroom line and to the coffee line…very efficient since the lines where both about 60 people long.
I caved a bit early on the parade thing and took the monster and my mom back to the car while the others finished watching the parade and then it was off to the inlaws for lots of food, but sadly no turkey. I really missed having a turkey for Thanksgiving. We had curry and chicken and dumplings and manicotti and organic stuffing and three different kinds of squash and some kind of Hawaiian spicy chicken dish and corn bread and veggies galore, crackers and hummus…but no turkey, and no ham…I think I’ll have to make a turkey when I get home. I missed it that much.
Tomorrow it’s off to my Aunt’s in Lansing for more festivities. Maybe she’ll make a turkey, ham would be nice too…Boy do I sound whiny or what.
Tonight I am missing my honey. He’s staying at his parent’s house so that he can get up and go shopping at 2:30 a.m. with his Dad. Yes, they are going to actually stand in line with probably hundreds of other people, so they can cram themselves through the doors at 5 a.m. and get another computer. Ben found an Apple on sale that he’s been eyeballing for awhile and he couldn’t pass it up,so it’s off to join the insanity he goes. I however will be snug as a bug in bed in my sisters basement/ guest room. I’ll do my shopping in the afternoon like any sane person. There is a giant glass store in Lansing I’m going to go drop some money at. Of course I haven’t told him that yet but somehow I don’t think he’s going to argue…
I hope all of you had a Happy Thanksgiving and were able to enjoy your families as much as I enjoyed mine. Even though I didn’t get turkey, the company was wonderful.

Wow, a guy that goes to those early shopping things! I would rather be in bed at 2am. Hope you get your turkey tomorrow.
‘Captain Underpants’, I hope that this doesn’t count as kiddie porn, I could get arrested for that here. Great entry, you never cease to put a smile on my face, and your husband is very lucky. Best regards. -D
I’m not big on the Captain Underpants idea. He’s the reason I switched to boxers.
Hey there, I had enough turkey for both of us, wheeeew still full. Hope you get some somewhere, I’m kinda like you, gotta have some turk or ham on TG.
Have a fun day shopping and visiting.
Take good care of that [wild woman]
I wish I could take credit for the Captain Underpants pictures. It was your sister who yelled, “look at his crotch!” and the entire crowd at the corner of Woodward and Mack that looked. I just pulled the trigger on the camera. Hey, if the guy didn’t want it out there like that, he should wear some pants.
Im full
Sorry about that! I hope you get some turkey real soon!
