The day goes on…
Happy Halloween is over!!! Now I have twelve waking hours to get packed and clean house…then it’s a ROAD TRIP!!!! I’m so excited. I love road trips. I have before and after hair cut and Halloween pics that I will upload later tonight. Hope you all had a really good time.

Parades went well, made it out alive…that’s important.The kids all looked great and were having good fun.
Decided to subject myself to more misery and took Cooper to get his hair cut…He walked in with long blonde tresses and came out looking like a boy… If I didn’t know he was mine I wouldn’t recognize him. The woman at the barber shop who cut his hair…yes it is a barber shop, but it is odd that there is only one male barber there.
Anyhow the woman who cut his hair said he looks great with a caesar cut you should put some product in it and mess it up, he’ll look cool. I thought product in a two year olds hair, hey what a great idea! He gets his hands sticky with candy and juice all the time, I’ll just tell him to run those through his hair and call it good.lol
I didn’t tell her that though. It was the first thing she’d said the whole haircut. This was the poor things first day on the job and in walks us to sit in her chair. If I had know believe me I would have waited for the old man… who is quite cool, but he pointed us towards her and she didn’t let us know till ten minutes into the screaming. I told Joe he was just mean… Any way she had a trial by fire and I gave her a big fat tip. I hope it helped, Nothing I can do for the hearing loss though.

More Halloween hoopla. Today is the last of it. I have the costume parade and room parties this morning and then trick or treating tonight. We will probably do a firestation, and then I’m all done.
One last minute alteration to a costume charlie decided that he wanted to be a flaming ninja instead of a balrog so a tshirt was found and given a new life as a face mask.
You know I remember a time when Halloween was fun. Making costumes was fun. This year just felt like a whole lotta work. I think next year I need to make sure one of the parties is a party for ME!

I hate to break it to you; but when they’re little and still want to dress up and do parades, it IS fun. My 15 year old sometimes-turd-boy decided LAST NIGHT that we had to take him to Party City because tomorrow was Halloween. Uh, I don’t think so! You don’t just spring that on me at the last minute & expect me to make it happen. GRR!

Sorry you didn’t get a grown-up party this year. I went to one Saturday and took the girls. We all had a good time, the costumes were fun and easy, and they are completely okay with not trick or treating this year. I will buy each a bag of their favorite candy, and we’re good to go. Sadly, we don’t get class parties this year. I kind of miss those, but am trying to enjoy the break until D3 starts school.
We haven’t BEEN to a grown-up Halloween party in ages. And I do miss it but kids kinda take priority don’t they? sad but true! Anyway… RYC: Yeah I am the most immature guy on the planet (Shirlann beleives that I channel Beavis AND Butthead at the same time) but that what makes me so damn fun and awesome to be around. The kids (not even MY kids) love being around me because I can be so juvenile! So here is some fun stuff for you:

You should take pictures of your kids all dressed up in thier costumes and post them! I bet they have great costumes!
And re: happydeviant’s comment above me, I don’t want it to be over becuase then all the Christmas stuff goes up and everybody gets psycho over Christmas stuff.

I didnt get any parties this year either. It sucks
I am stuck in the middle of nowhere so unless i want to take my kids to the VA and drink with a bunch of depressed old men while they dole out candy to my children, i guess ill focus on the kids costumes and trick or treating adventures.

I miss when my kids were all little and they all loved going trick or treating. Now that they are getting bigger and not as interested its not as much fun. Less work, but less fun also. We live far enough out of town that we never get a trick or treater.

Hope you have big fun! I haven’t dressed up in years. Maybe I need to get together with ABD and Shirlann to plan a grown up Halloween party next year. Shirlann isn’t feeling it this year…maybe she will dig it next year.
Make the party for you? sounds like a great idea. The kids won’t mind as long as there is still candy in abundance.

I took the kids to that annual Zoo Boo Saturday night, tonight we do the uptown trick or treating and then off to houses of relatives and friends. When I was little and went to school here, the classroom parties were a blast, but they no longer do them since most holidays cannot be celebrated in school or people get offended. Have fun with the kids! Will they get scared and freak out over other costumes? Mine have done that a time or two!
