It’s a mouse, it’s a rat . it’s a plane…
I am a home wrecker. Yesterday the kids and I were cleaning out the garage when we disturbed a nest of something. Me being the bright person that I am (dripping sarcasm)suggested to the kids that we catch the little babies and put them in a container to identify. So we chased them around the garage with a washcloth catching two.
It did work, we were able to identify them online as voles. But I didn’t realize two things… One it only took the kids a second to decide that they were attached to them. and two it’s really hard to kill something when you’ve kept it in a critter keeper.
Not that I’m blood thirsty or anything but these things have ripped up our yard. So in the end I convinced the kids that they would be better off if we released them in the field so they could find their mommy… or an owl… Anyway I’ll spray a deuteron and set up traps. It’s much easier to kill something when you don’t have to look at it… and the kids quickly got over their heart break when they filled the critter keeper with a toad. Oh how fickle youth.

Too funny! Well enjoy the new pet toad. By the way have your kids watched the new Shaggy Dog movie? The toad in that movie gives my the creeps, he’s just WRONG!
