YES, It’s true…
In the spirit of not holding anything back…
I thought I would share this with you.
We have turtles.
Three, two red eared sliders and a painted.
In the summer we put them in the pond…
It’s actually a 150 gallon cattle tank with a fountain filter in it.
This is Shelly, the painted, she is the least shy.
The others are always hiding.
This is her picture from last year.
You can’t really tell, but she is much bigger now.
I just thought you should know…
In the interest of full disclosure…
I didn’t want you to be surprised that I have…
TURTLES…
Do YOU have something I should know about?

We went to the movie AGAIN today…
The State Theatre in Down Town Traverse City was restored by the Traverse City Film Festival.
Last Tuesday we saw My Neighbor Totoro
It was enjoyable.
Today we saw Fern Gully, for 25 cents and they gave us free popcorn!
Every Tuesday is free popcorn and all movies before noon are 25 cents all of the time.
Anyway, I thought you guys would enjoy the inside.
The ceiling has hundreds of little star lights.
Next year the festival will be in it’s fifth year.
Boy is it something.
They have a whole week of movies, they put up a giant inflatable screen in front of West Bay and show free movies on it every night.
Last year my favorite was North by Northwest, this year it was Singing in The Rain.
I was told Madonna was in town this year.
(It was on the front page of the local paper.)
If you start planning now, you can make it to next years festival.
Call me, I’ll go to a film with you!
Oh… eventually, I am going to make it to one of the 25 cent movies that isn’t a kids show.

Let the good times roll!
So taking a break has been a good thing!
I miss you guys, but I’ve still been here, sneaking around and peeking at you!
I haven’t gotten as much done as I need to, so I probably won’t come back all together yet.
I miss posting!
I miss hearing what you guys have to say and what you think.
(Except about racism, give me a break, people are people, get over it.)
Oh and if you think just “thinking” about something isn’t bad… your wrong.
It may not be horrible, but it definitely isn’t healthy.
Oops sorry I wasn’t going to go there.
So what have I been doing on my break?!
I know you want to know…
Well Ben took a day off and went to the theatre with us one day.
The old State Theatre in Traverse City has 25cent movies before noon and FREE popcorn on Tuesday!
We did a little tree climbing… Next time I’m going up first, I think I’ll get better pictures.
I stared down more than a few bugs, of course…
Some of us had more fun then others.
It’s been a very good Summer and I’m almost ready for Fall…
Pumpkin carving and turning leaves, sweaters and pumpkin bread…
I said ALMOST, I still haven’t painted the sunroom…
Time to get busy!

A tribute to one of my favorite photographers!
August 16th is a WONDERFUL day.
First it’s the day THE love of my life was born!
That was good enough and then two years ago I found SEEDSOWER was born on this day!
How lucky am I!
Beth is one of my favorite people.
She is an incredible person, fun to talk to and be with, probably one of the kindest people I know.
She has so many talents, the obvious of making people feel good, but she also sews and gardens, stamps and does calligraphy, and she TAKES PICTURES!
She has a talent for dissecting a scene and showing us what SHE sees.
This is probably my favorite New York picture that either of us took!
Did I mention she’s GREAT to travel with?
She shares the beauty of her area and…
her craft with us… Out of all the wonderful things she does, she is always a sower of seeds.
Of course my favorites are always the ones that are just a little different…
I especially like this one because I can picture exactly HOW she took it in my head… Just how I would have!
She inspires me to try different things and I always want to grab my camera and see if I can do what she does.
She is getting a new camera for her birthday, I CAN’T WAIT to see what she does with it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!
(All pictures in this post were taken by Seed Sower, if you like them, please GO TELL Her and wish her happy birthday too! )
