  • I remember the day when I enjoyed  nothing more then to read my Xanga.

To feel connected to other people through the things they shared about their lives,  to share my life and put it all out there.

    Then I got a job.

Now I still like reading the blogs, but they  fill a different need, one that isn’t quite as social.

I just realized this when I was reading someone’s blog, (someone that I like a lot and have known for a long time on Xanga) and I found myself searching for the LIKE button.

I wanted them to know I had been there and enjoyed, but I didn’t want to make the effort of a comment at this time…

    Maybe I’m just getting lazy.

    *sigh*

It would probably  be hypocritical to ask you to comment on this blog… huh?

  • It was a very nice surprise to see you post. Now I know what you have been doing. You are enjoying real life–that is good. As an old retired guy taking care of two elderly gals, Xanga is my social, communications outlet.

  • You know I’m not going to read your blogs and not comment.  I can’t help myself.  I’m just happy knowing you’re out there, little darlin!  Peace

  • Glad to see you again. I have spells where I just cruise around xanga and don’t comment. It’s like walking through the neighborhood and just giving a wave and keep going. So here’s a little stop at the gate with a hello and glad to see you doing fine and have a job in the real world .

  • Haha – I just hit the Like button on the chat toolbar at the bottom of the page. Because I LIKE you!!!

  • Good to see you, Ang. My relationship with Xanga has changed dramatically too. I post almost exclusively protected because I’m so whiny and depressive now and where I used to have several dozen people I really liked interacting with here that number has withered to just “several.”

Are you still enjoying your job? I hope life is treating you well.

  • I just hate it when life gets in the way of xanga….but good to see you here whenever you can be around..

  • Who said that the economy is bad when Angi is gainfully employed?

I haven’t been around much because of the free wifi is no longer available, but I suppose a few sheckles is not too much to spend for entertainment.

  • Turningreen was here.

  • sometimes you just have nothing to say even though you like a post. I totally understand.

  • Like and commented. How ya been, Ang?

  • two thumbs up -like

  • Its understandable and we forgive you! For now… :D

  • Hahaha.. I see what you’re saying, but I definitely LOVE posting comments. I don’t talk much out loud, and enjoy writing. I suppose it’s just my way of making friends and getting to know people.

  • Like you too! You can go on walkabout some, we” still be here.

  • I have just clicked on” I like” but without going further because I don’t want to be active on facebook .

Thanks for your concerns about us in France . France had a very generous social system based on solidarity between people young and old , active or retirees , healthy and sick . But the economic crisin stroke the country . Unemployement , money going away ( in China for instance ) . So the president has to take not popular law to maintain the financial balance of the country and save the social system which of course will become less generous ..The law has just been voted and the calm should be back ???

Whatever thank you Ang for you kind words . Don’ t worry we are quiet.

    Love
    Michel

  • No of course it’s not asking too much to want people to comment.  Comments are lovely.  But it’s also understandable that when you’re working full time you don’t have the time to comment on everyone’s blog that you read.  You’ll comment when you can.

  • @ANVRSADDAY - I know that feeling Frank… Well not the elderly gals part, but the staying at home and not getting enough social activity part. I always enjoy your comments and I will try to make more of an effort top stop and say HI when I am on… Having a life is nice, but there is no excuse not to say Hi to friends once in awhile.

  • @saintvi - WOW! This is the first I’ve noticed it… I should have seen it before, since it is always blocking my comment box! lol Thanks for the heads up VI!  Now where do ypu see who LIKED your page?

  • @Babyboomerjill - Good thing that your thumb is still functioning! lol I would have taken one though.

  • @angi1972 - It shows up on my facebook wall. Not sure if there’s some way for you to see it from your xanga account.

  • don’t feel bad. i’m lazy in the same way :D

  • I have wished for a LIKE button too. or just an I READ THIS button.

  • and then there are us whom’s bosses think they should actually be working and just don’t have the stinkin time anymore mornin glorie….I haven’t even had the reading time lately….oh well – such is life ….ilym
