Some day we can start a restaurant. ~Someone said in my kitchen and it wasn’t me!
The kids asked if they could make dinner tonight, sounded like a good deal to me.
They called it an all you can eat buffet.
Listening to them prepare it was half the fun.
Cooper insisted on being called Chef Cooper, and Isabelle said that was okay as long as he understood he was the third ranking Chef. Chef Charlie was first and Chef Isabelle was second and THEN there was Chef Cooper because he was the littlest and still learning. Cooper was okay with that.
We had…
Day old scone and Fig Newtons.
A smiley face cheese plate, by way of a sliced cheese stick.
Bagels with salmon cream cheese. (The lemon is for a splash of color on the table.)
Chex mix, crackers with cheese on them, and yogurt.
Bologna pizza, Chef Charlie and Chef Isabelle’s secret recipe.
The plate was full but on the way to the table, apparently some of it got eaten, I mean went missing.
We also had white bread cheese sandwiches and neon yellow macaroni and cheese.
All washed down with pink lemonade.
They even did the clean up…
The only thing missing was Daddy!
He’ll be home soon though and I saved him some bologna pizza!
Mmm… He is going to be SO HAPPY!
;-D
When you were little did you ever make your parents dinner?
Did you have a specialty?

A feast fit for a king! I’m guessing your kids kinda like cheese. I think my mom was probably too terrified of the mess we might make if all five of her kids were unleashed in the kitchen.
I’ve said it before, but….I love your kids! My goodness how they are growing! When we were kids our dad would cook with us, he’d watch Julia Child and the guy that was always drinking wine on TV. Then we would make things like blackforest cherry cake, we deboned a chicken once, we made fantastic pizza sauce and homemade pizza, I remember an episode with fried rice. We also made horrific messes and had a ton of fun. If you open a restaurant…I will come there! Peace
Looks wonderful…better then the meatloaf we had for dinner.
You had a feast! No, my parents didn’t want me to mess anything up. I was an only child and everything was PERFECT.
They all grew so much! I hope no one throws up, it will be like a neon rainbow!
A wonderfully nutritious meal — all the things they’ll eat without fussing!
I see that your restaurant isn’t one of those stuffy “no shirts no service” establishments!!!
Very cute — was there dessert??
thanks for the memory-my kids did that once and they got the good dishes and glasses out, too.
I love it! And I notice a distinctive lack of any veggies! That is such a kid menu. What fun!
How fun!
I love that you let them do stuff like this, honey. You’re an awesome Mom, I bet.
When I was a kid? Was I a kid? Oh yeeass I remember way back then… Hmm.. I made my parents cringe. I made them angry. I made them upset. I made them lose their hair. I made them talk to themselves… I don’t think I ever made them dinner though…
I really enjoyed that! I didn’t get to do that when I was a kid…mom and g’ma let me help however.
they didn’t exactly follow the food pyramid did they
very fun tho!
Your kids are adorable ,Ang.

You ask if I made dishes when I was little : YES , I loved cooking at this time . However I was not too much gifted , and less and less in aging!!

They make a louis vuitton bags style hand bag that looks very professional, but also, very stylish. When you sport your louis vuitton for sale at work, you will turn heads around the office. Some people do not know the fine line that separates casual from business. Monogram Monogram Denim are a nice mix of a classy business casual. Monogram Denim Patchwork are perfect for a night out on the town.
Mornin Glorie,…Mary Sue stole my answer – I’m still trying to remember how we deboned the chicken though – and my favorite to make was cinnimon toast in warm milk – dang I’m hungry now too – ilym
@turningreen - yogurt
lol-this reminded me of when my son was little-he used to insist we call him Chef Matt-Boy-R-Dee.
he’s still the best cook in the family! (and still makes the same amount of mess your three kids can do!)
You did not only let them make dinner, you let them make memories…and that is the sweetest thing about this meal!!!
Yummy!
They will remember that forever! It will be fun hearing them recall their menu in later years, lol. And goodness! I remember when Chef Charlie was the size of Chef Cooper! They are growing up!
I wanted to let you know that there is something in my post that you will enjoy (I don’t do so great with linking, lol). I thought of you and Beth when I saw it!

My Mom would probally allowed me to make a meal – I never asked.
Looks yummy~! :]
I never cooked my old parents a meal, but in the early days of our marriage, I would prepare lunch on Sundays.
