TAKING TOPIC SUGGESTIONS!
Yes, yes, it’s that time of the year again!
Time to find something to entertain myself with… something to get me through those inspiration draughts that we all get from time to time…
Time for the yearly PERFECT PICTURE SEARCH!
Seedsower and I have had some discussion on a topic and we decided that we would have TWO topics this year… One that’s challenging and another that is a little easier…
The more challenging topic that we chose is…
(drum roll, please)
FACES IN THINGS
Finding things that look like they have faces…
For example… the viewfinder pictures that I took last year…
Half of a face…
See his cool eyebrow?
FACES IN THINGS
Could be in rocks, trees, cars, buildings… you never know where you’ll find them…
but now you’ll be looking for them!
OK, topic two…
I don’t know what the easier topic will be!
That’s up to you guys…
What would you like to see for the year?
Remember we will see a lot of them…
Everyone who wants to play along can. When you post your pictures I will recommend them and link them here from my site… remember to send me a message when they are up…
Unfortunately I don’t get around as much as I used to *sigh* and I don’t want to miss any.
SO now is the time. I know you’ve been thinking about it…
What do YOU think we should try to capture for the PPS?!?!?!?
At the end of this year I am thinking about using the shots to make a calender for the following year… It’s an idea… I wish I had thought of it sooner… all of those DOOR shots would make a great calender…

What a perfect picture idea! I see faces all the time in clouds and in flooring patterns. Not sure anyone would see those in a photo, though, lol! I’ll be on the lookout for those – oh, I wish I had pics of the outlets at the house I grew up in. They were different than the usual outlets, and looked like sleepy faces! LOL

@k8tthelate - Ooh – I like Kate’s idea. Reflections could be fun.
You could do the calendar a year behind. Use last year’s photos for next year’s calendar. That way you have more time to choose which shots you want to use.
I like the trees and reflections suggestions.

Mornin Glorie….how about moon and stars shots….very difficult to get a clear picture tho… if only the planet would be still….reflections sounds great too….bridges – I love bridges - water could be very diverse – there is lots of stuff with water around…like the parking lot outside…I just hope it doesn’t ice up….there is another idea….ICE ICE BABY!!!! But my fav would be DOGS – I have tons of dogs shots - I don’t know – DOORS will be hard to beat in any case…….I know you’ll do the right thing Ang….ilym

Love the faces in things idea! Chairs. I’m thinking chairs simply because I’m not at home to sit in my own chair (I believe it’s calling me). Also…I like chairs. I have one that I’m going to share in the faces theme! Whatever you choose, I know I’m going to enjoy seeing what everyone comes up with. It’s one of my favorite things on xanga. Peace
Faces in things is wonderful. I think that’s a fantastic idea. I actually have been collecting shots from the web of faces in things. I know you’re looking for original pics, but sometime I could share what I’ve found with you. I”m always seeing faces in things. Coooool concept.
In the art class I flunked because my paints…no, I flunked of poor study habits and ill dedication, just before i drowned we were ramping up for our shapes as letters around town- so us budding artists would gain a perspective of seeing the world a new way. a mountain silhoet upside against a contrasting sky is a v or w …but not a bug. a public works sculpture at the local train staion was of an Arapahoe brave casting a spear while in mid-stride- He, I swore, was my “K.” but long before all of this is a link to a special picture that is interrnally captioned and makes fun of itself- you must figure it out for yourselves why. yes, my vote is topic “Seeing what it can be”

Bridges! They could be anything from massive super-structures to old covered bridges, or even a footlog across a local creek. Possibilities are endless!
I think we should do the best/worst beach bodies, or the cooliest fishing picture (of course!)

Faces in things! What a cool idea! I have no idea for the other one. Personally, I am collecting pictures of weather vanes. It’s hard to come up with something that is broad and interesting yet with a certain amount of challenge. Hmmmmm

FUN! I love the Faces in things idea. Don’t have any ideas for the other option but I’m sure you’ll come up with something cool. I can’t wait to see them and will carry around my crappy little camera everywhere so if I see a face I can get it.

I was thinking circuitry or machine parts. Up-slose shots of the little mechanics of things are interesting, and wires vary a lot in color and girth. I’ve got some pretty cool shots from stuff like that, but I just like the offbeat stuff.

Many cool ideas here, Angi. I would like mention windows, reflections and patterns.
Oh man faces are everywhere! I also like the patterns and close-ups of tiny devices. I know a few things I’d love to take apart and photograph.
How about things in motion? People running, propellers spinning, merry-go-rounds…I’m sure there are tons of creative options with that.

but my other suggestion might be “circles”. any type of circles… what do you think?

Oh, this is driving me CRAZY….where was I yesterday when I saw this — I was SOMEWHERE (??) with my son, and as I was bending down to help him zip up his jacket, I saw this thing on the ground….I think it was some sort of half-eaten candy or a plastic disc of some kind…..and TOTALLY had a face on it! I can picture it in my mind, but cannot remember where we were or I would go back and try to snap a pic of it! I love the face idea – very fun! As for something easier…..how about chairs and/or benches? They often tell such a story based on where they are, how beaten up they are, what color, who sits there, etc. Just a thought!

hrm….it might be because it’s so late, but what about animals? Or better yet, SLEEPING animals?
or what about shapes in food? Like how sometimes you’ll get a chicken nugget that looks like a heart. Or a kidney.

Very cool idea…Faces in Things. You come up with great ideas and I can’t think of anything for the easier topic. Except maybe this one thought which is kind of like the reflections idea that a few have already suggested… Shadows.

Reflections of moving dinosaur faces in kitchen windows with trees in the background… That should be pretty easy. I see them all the time!
