POSITIVE THINKING
Time once again to restate my resolutions for the New Year. I have done these two for the last three years in a row and they seem to work for me, so I thought I would do them again.
1.) This year I will avoid setting myself on fire.
2.) This year I will not shoot, cut, or maim myself or anyone else, in any way intentionally… Hey, accidents happen.
The first one might be harder to keep this year, since I am now working at a bakery and next week I start using the ovens… but I’m still going to try my hardest.
Do you believe in making resolutions? If you do, what are yours for the coming year? If you don’t, I will respect your resolution to remain resolute about not having resolutions!

I resolve not to make any more resolutions!!!
Good luck with keeping yours!!!
Oooooo no ~ we cannot have smoked bearded lady!!!!
I don’t really make new years resolutions….but do need to prioritise things and plan more and stick to the plan!!!!
Happy New Year!!!!
I made both of those resolutions myself last year, after reading your post. needles to say I only set myself on fire twice, and it was only briefly. As fot the 2nd one… I did pretty good there, at least the on purpose part..
the only resolution I have ever kept well was the one not to make more resolutions. why screw up a winning streak?
I think yours are very good tho.
Hope you don’t set yourself on fire! Burning hair smells really awful. I feel your most likely problem will be burned shins. When you take those large trays out of the oven, and the mitts are too thin/wet or the tray is too heavy, everything goes south. Be careful…
hahaha at least you’re keeping them
my “resolution” is on my blog, i just posted it. Happy New Year!
ps Mom kinda liked the faces idea.
I gave up a dirty mouth for Lent, and kept it dirt free even afterwards. It was hard, but I am glad I did it.
On the other hand, there were two resolutions that I did make for the last year. I did not meet either of them. I was a bit depressed about it last night!
Maybe I’ll try and keep them again this year!
you’re silly-what is our photo assignment?
Nope, no resolve here at all!
I haven’t made any resolutions, yet. I do like yours a lot, again. Peace
Great resolutions my dear!! I just don’t want to fall off the treadmill!!
Those are good. I am thinking mine needs to be to figure out a way to have less stress. Take more control over my life because sometimes I feel like my life is running me:)
um… yeah- I can’t make those resolutions considering my family is full of pyromaniacs(all firefighters or former firefighters)… fire is inevitable! LOL Happy New Year!
Thank you for respecting my right to resolve not to have any resolutions!… I hope we can still be friends!
dan =P
I don’t have any for myself this year. I’m boycotting 2009. It just sounds wrong and so… unfashionable.
Tell you what. I’ll keep you accountable to your resolution this year. You can tell me which one you break, and I’ll say “stop it!”
@jillcarmel - Oh yes, I agree with Jill. Photo assignment! This was how I got to know you, Angi: doors.
I usually try, but this year I am just not in that frame of mind.
ROFL @ yours! (((HUGS)))
Nothing yet… but who knows… I’m starting late this year. Honestly, I usually don’t make many.
I think its fascinating that everyone seems to be in a non-resolution mood. Why are resolutions so bad? It’s not the resolutions that are at fault — it’s our own unreliable natures! I will post today my approach to all this.
@WinsomeONE - guess she wants us to help her think of something -walkways? windows? water? what????
No resolutions for me .excepted to try to be better .
I got a tripod for Christmas for my camera! I resolve to take another million or so pictures this year
oh come on setting yourself on fire sounds Awesome. If you do somthing like that make sure you get it on tape so you can make some cash with the footage.
I dont make new year resolutions I just live every day to the fullest!
@the_best_stuff - It’s always about the money with you isn’t it?!
you know I’m all about nice car and clothes.
Love your sense of humor!
You have inspired me
1. I will not fall out of trees (also known as AHHHHHHHHHH thump)
2. I will reduce the number of ER visits, this one should be easy I have a grandson now to help pick up the slack.
Nope, I’m not a resolution kinda gal; although yours seem pretty reasonable.
@jillcarmel - you know, I actually thought water would make an interesting theme! But you picked all the Ws. Maybe her new theme should be Double-U. Did you know that’s how it’s written out in full [link]? You know, you and I can have a nice long conversation on this until she decides to do something about it.
While I applaud your resolutions, the last one I made was many years ago. I resolved to never make another resolution. That is the only one I have ever kept, incidentally.
My resolutions are to lose weight…I would be happier if I was in the 120′s.. and to watch House from season one to current.
Yup…pretty simple so I know that I will be able to fullfill them.
Later!
Gina
I didn’t make any resolutions, although I love yours!!! LOL
i don’t usually do the resolutions thing. Not really my way. However, those ARE fine resolutions. Best of luck with them.
Good luck.
I guess as far as resolutions go, those are pretty good, and important, to have! All I want this year is to not spread myself too thin, get more sleep, take a class, or two and have more sex. Sorry you asked, huh? Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
L
I used to believe in making resolutions…not this year though. This’ll be a first…
Mine is more of an aim, to get myself a job and try to applied for more jobs.
Thanks for stopping by. I’ve been out of town so much and not checking blogs but I’m back now so I’ll be coming around much more.
I wanted to come over and tell you why I love you…
You are kind, compassionate, sweet, creative, especially funny, caring, smart, I need to add kinda and sweet again… you ar about my best bud and so much more,I love you!!
Mornin Glorie…..Happy New Year…..no resolutions here either….
I have some things I have to do, I like the idea as the new year being a new start.
I’ve been trying to think of resolutions in terms of goals. For some reason that seems to be working for me. At least for the past 2 years. This year my goal is one painting a month. So by Dec. 31, 2009 I should have 12 finished paintings. The optium word here is “finished”.
Yes I have many, yet to put down on paper or screen! One will be to deliver birthday presents to people before or on their birthdays! Life gets so busy, but excuses aside!
