Silver white winters that melt into spring…
The sculptures of…

Gian Lorenzo Banini

I am impressed with the incredible depth of the details in his work, how he made marble look like warm flesh…
Going to see his fountains in Rome is on my life list.

My green bags!
I can fit more groceries into fewer bags. One of my grocery stores gives me a nickel every time I use them, so they may have cost me a dollar to buy, but they have long since paid for themselves.
I feel good about using them and they make carrying the groceries into the house easier too.

Percy Jackson and the Olympian books
I know, it’s another young adult book, I read to the kids every night so I go through a lot of them.
I would be lying if I told you I didn’t like them, I love them!
These books are a great intro into mythology for any little monster as well as a refresher for me!
Ingrid Michaelson
Her album- Girls and Boys- is my studio music of choice right now.
Fall!
This is one of last years fall tree pictures. I am excited to go take more.
These are a few of my favorite things, now tell me some of yours!

Wow, those sculptures are realistic.
The bags only cost a dollar? Man, they can be so expensive other places!
You,you are one of my favorite things!
I love this song too.
I have been to the Louvre (I loved the Winged Victory of Samothrace) and the Uffizi, and have seen all kinds of sculpture all over Europe. I am not a big sculpture fan but saw some really cool stuff.
I too think its amazing that a sculpture can make marble look like warm flesh! Its a true gift and talent!!!
I am looking forward to seeing some of you new fall photos! I love your photos Angi!
Love the realistic look of the sculpture. Geez, I think I am getting turned on!!
I am amazed by the sculptures-I just can’t imagine how anyone can do that-just fabulous!
as for my favourite things…you of course, seedsower, candy, the cowboy and well, you get the idea-just too many to list!
That man and woman scuplture is so amazing! It DOES look warm, like flesh, and how he can make indentations in the marble, where the man is “pressing” on the woman’s skin – incredible!
I bought a bag like that at Wal-mart for a dollar recently. I have used it several times, and am surprised at its sturdiness!
Kathi
so beautiful! the way the marble looks exactly like flesh, with the pressure indentations and the veins… wow. And I totally agree with you on the rest!
I love that song, too and you KNOW I love me some reusable bags!!! This shape/material is the most efficient, I think. We are still so far from fall foliage in these parts, and I am just itching to get out and shoot some leaves!
I’ve got my “green bags” too. Meijer was having a special – for every $50 of groceries you bought you could get a bag for free. I managed to get 2 free. I’ve been using them exclusively and may have to break down and actually get another for $1. I just found the photos we took on vacation to D.C. in 1998 – we went to a sculpture garden and the boys posed infront of the different sculptures mimicing the postures and attitudes of the statues. Very funny!
Wow. That sculpture really is flesh like. That’s amazing. I’m going to find that book. After my Harry Potter obsession, I’m not one to judge those who read young adult, lol.
Interesting range of likes. You are an eclectic kind of gal.
-Love- the CD. I’m also very in love with Natasha Bedingfeilds album Pocket full of sunshine (or whatever it’s called >.>; ) I’m loving the fall trees as well. You know I’d love to get some of those bags. I may just invest in them finally. I’ve been meaning to but keep passing them by.
I liked the music. Thanks for putting that on here. ~~ Hmmm… one of my favorite things is APPLES, and I have a huge bag waiting for me to turn them into applesauce or pie or something! I love the smell of Fall, but I also like the quiet Winter days when the snow is new and untouched. I like summer mornings when the birds are up early, and I like Spring days when everything is just bursting into green! God made such a beautiful world. I wish we could keep it that way. ~~ Good idea about the green bags. We recycle our bags here and use them until they get big holes. We have a long walk in from the parking lot and up the stairs with our groceries, so we can’t pack our bags too full. Blessings on your day!
I’ve gone green with bags too– and our grocery stores do the same thing too. Cool, huh?
Can’t wait to see your fall photos!!
OH. I am ready for fall pictures too. Can’t wait to see yours.
How nice to awake this cool morning to that song, Thanks, thhhat sculpturre is tooo reall !!
One of my favorite things as of late is sitting with warm hands from a cup of cappa-coffee (can’t spell it) and reading your site.
Peace,
Wraven
Had to look twice at that second photo before I realized it was a sculpture! WOW!! That’s incredible!
can I go with you when you see that sculpture?
Mornin Glorie………..I want to go with you to see the Banini sculpture too…please….my favorites? Well I was going to say you too of course….but other than you….Children…Dogs…Birds…Flowers…Blue skies filled with white puffy clouds (the kind you can lay in the grass and make up stories about) the beach…my list is long
…….I could go on for days
!!!
I’ve been meaning to tell you that your pictures have been particularly awesome as of late. That last one looks like a storybook.
In that second picture, I first thought a real person was holding a statue…that’s awesome!
I can’t wait to see your fall pictures!
Totally amazed by those sculptures!!!! Your Fall picture is absolutely beautiful. Our tree’s have not started turning yet….lightly late this year, me thinks.
Maybe we can all take a bus to see the fountains. LOL!
I keep forgetting to take my green bags into the store with me! gah!
I like using my green environment bags, it makes me feel unique, but I don’t go grocery shopping as much so I feel unique once in a while lol.
I LOVE my canvas grocery bags too! I love the long straps so you can hook them on your shoulders. I love that you can get twice as much in them as a plastic bag. If only I could remember to take them in with me instead of having to make a run to the car before I check out.
wow that one sculpture is ya know!
So I heard Christina Aquilera is going green. She demands that no styrafoam gets used. She also demands that she has 20 bottles waters back stage as well. wtf. why waste a bottle every time you drink water****
So love the spider web pics!!!
I love that 2nd sculpture too
Autumn is also my most favorite season of the year and I have gone green too using recycled bags when I do my shopping
I just got an ecobag and I love using it. I certainly have favorite things but I can’t think of them. But I like all of yours.
I also find reusable bags easier to use. They carry more, don’t cut into your hands, and sure, the environment thing isn’t bad either. The only thing is remembering to bring them!
Love the pictures of the sculpture, nice music too.
That sculpture is amazingly good.
I definitely use my “green bags” when I shop for groceries. I don’t get any discounts for it but I feel better this way. One small thing I can do for the environment.
I love YA books though I’m way beyond the age! My recent favorite book is The Time Traveler’s Wife.
@rubymay1029 - gosh I thought I was the only one who couldn’t remember to take in my green bag……I figure it’s so I’ll get some extra exercise in
We were taught a bunch of stuff about Bernini in my art history classes… something about Popes and commissions and his style when he was born… you know all the boring crap history teachers think is really really cool.
It sure does wreck the experience. I like the way the shadows form around the fingers and eyes. I suppose that is why I am not a history teacher.
Did you know Bernini’s father was a sculptor also? He helped him to gain the patronage of Cardinal Scipione Borghese ( I like to call him ”Birdy Skippy Borg Cheese”)… … I need a wealthy patron.
I can see the man who wants to scream for help….
I heard Traverse City was trying to pass an ordinance against stores using plastic bags. Bunch of yuppy greenies for sure. LOL
In short, it can be said that lv are amongst the most fascinating and hot favorite Louis vuitton bags for women in the world in most recent times. louis vuitton bag are not only very durable but also very versatile by louis vuitton nature at all.
