Squatter Update
I see why they chose this tree.
The kids couldn’t even see the baby, they thought nothing was there, it blends so well.
I snapped this shot and got out of the way because the parents freaked when they saw me near the tree and one of them wasn’t in the nest.
It was funny because the kids had been running around it for an hour.
I was worried they wouldn’t come back.
This morning there was a parent there, so its all good.
Now if they would just get out of my tree so Ben can put the hammock up!

awwww, such cute birdies! I have a next over my carport. There were little babies in it and now there is only one baby left that is trying to learn to fly. It is so adorable!
The birds are so adorable Angie!
Is this a mourning dove? I had a nest of them in my gutter, I could see them from my kitchen window. They were very freaked out by my cats watching them. They came, laid there eggs, had their babies and left so quickly!
But it sure was neat to watch them. I guess it’s very common for them to be found in outside lamps and hanging plants.
Awww… what a cute little family!
Bird watching is one of my very favorite passtimes. They are great photos
I think you may have to pick another tree for that hammock!
I think ben’s gonna have to wait a wee bit longer
I can’t get over how big their eyes are!!
I love watching birds. My son can name every bird that flies into our yard. It is amazing.
Wow they really do blend in with the tree. Yes maybe the hammock will have to go elsewhere…hehe.
Nature is amazing how they know just the right spot to put their nests!!! They are beautiful aren’t they! They will be around for a short time more and then you can have your hammock there!!!
Awwwww – so cute.
Very neat. What kind of bird is it?
@siennachartreuse - They are morning doves.
they have to teach the babies to be afraid of us
I’d be willing to bet you could put the hammock up and after a day they wouldn’t pay any attention to you at all. Of course it could get rather messy if you lay under the nest. Nope don’t want to picture that. Hugs.
Give them some time…the hammock can wait. *waits*
I’ve been enjoying the last couple of weeks watching the parents and their new baby’s around my front yard. I think the funniest to watch are the sparrows.
Smugs’n'Hooches!
Thanks for the comment! I am taking supplements, at least as often as I remember them. It’s been going pretty well. I’ve been a vegetarian for a couple of years now and have been cutting back on dairy and eggs for a while.
The birds are adorable, by the way. Beautiful pictures, too.
I’ve never seen them at a nest. Beautiful!
That is too cute
Thanks for the smile
The birds in our trees are too skittish. I’d never be able to get photos. Then again, they don’t nest here; they just nip at the fruit or something. 0_o
Great photos!
You get the best pics! That is so awesome~
I’ll post a follow-up to your on mine.
Sweet! I love your compositions, simple but great.
I heard you are not supposed to touch the baby birds are they won’t come back. I don’t know if that is true.
Perhaps the turtledoves love the hammock too !!! Take care Ang !

Love
Michel

Oh Angi, those are awesome pics! Hope you had a great weekend! (((HUGS))) Now have a great week!
Kinda hard to enjoy a hammock when you’re worried about birds pooping on you.
