  • Go Google Yourself!

Have you ever Googled yourself?  That sounds a little naughty.

No really, have you ever self-Googled ? There is a name for it… Hmmm… What is it?

    Ego surfing! That’s it.

I’m told everyone should do it, that way you can make sure no one is assuming your identity or running ads for garage sales at your house on days your supposed to be gone.

Ben Googles himself often (again… why does that sound so… naughty? )  It’s fun to see all of the articles he has had published, reviews he’s written or debate a.k.a. online arguments, he’s had. When I google my name however, nothing, nada, zip, well at least at first… I went through ten pages before I found the birth announcement for my daughter and let’s face it, that was really more about her then me.

Then I googled Angi1972, wow I am all over the place! I’m even in different languages.

I’d like to point out, that THIS isn’t me, I’m glad the poor girl had her moles taken care of though. I know, some of you have been wondering about the facial hair, but it isn’t for hiding  melanomas .

Anyway, do a little ego surfing, you never know what you might find. Maybe those photos you had taken your freshmen year to put yourself through college have resurfaced! You should really check that out.

    Feel free to share!

  • I haven’t done it but I might try.

  • In the days I was Jerry Jimston and life was good, I had an excellent presence on Google.  Then Jimston started taking everything over and I had to fire him, but not before he wrecked my magazine, my Bentley and my life.  Now that I have my new name, I’ve sued Jimston for everything he has, the worthless maggot.

  • I google myself regularly, and not only as myself, but my various alias too…….it is so relaxing with no messy clean - up!

  • I’ve googled my real name…and damn, nothing. I google gunstarhero1988…and damn, nothing. Although, I figured there be a few real hate sites out in the blogverse.

  • I read on a xanga site a few years ago that I should google myself and I did.  I didn’t come up.  I did google my own site and it came up a few times.

  • Somebody had blogged about this a few weeks back. So I tried it back then. Nothing on my name. I also googled  Mother Moonie. I found that it came up on that I had answered a message board that I have been on for nearly a dozen years. I tried the rest of my family, and all that came up (and it was the first one too!) was some pictures of my oldest daughter Sherri. A friend of hers had a site, and had posted some pics. They were just some fun pictures taken during their senior year. So I downloaded them, and sent them to Winkflash to make a couple of copies of. One for Sherri, and one for me.

  • There’s an artist in NY that has the same name as me, but I will check again, and see what else I can find out!

  • …my married name is the same as a really hot black porn?/actress.  GREAT.

  • I have the same name as a video game character so nothing personal comes up when people google me :D

  • i just googled myself… tee hee!  that just makes me giggle.  anyhoo, i did my real name and the first link that showed up showed me as a member of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity in the county where i work.  i thought that was pretty cool! that was the only link that showed up for my real name, but WOW the links that popped up under nunyaincognito!  my goodness.  i just feel famous for half a second.

  • I have just do a google,   quite a few suprising results for my real name

Quite a few have appeared on google of my Xanga user name in the past (even my myspace account is still there)

  • i did try googling myself and find the links directing to xanga which is a great thing coz’ i am not used nor there’s someone who has the same name as i do doing something umm, challenging. lol!

  • I did it, and it depressed me.  Apparently there is another girl with my exact name, although she’s living a much more interesting life.  She’s got a hottie husband and she’s pursuing her PhD.  So yes…beware of the googling!  :)

  • Ego surfed & found me at the top of the list, but number two was a guy going to jail.

    I didn’t read any farther!

    Have a great day!

  • ryc I have seen you around some of the sites I visit also.  I’m glad you came by.  Come over and join us anytime.

Hope you have a great week.

  • I’ve done it already, and I get nothing exciting with my real name.  I get a little more with my Xanga name, but only when people linked me or something like that.  *Sigh* I guess my life is very boring!

  • my real name in english is terribly common and google goes on for pages and pages before it hits me unless I have just published something (then it will be briefly on the first page). oddly my xanga name goes on for pages and pages.

  • In my Google Life, I’m a famous actress with pages of information. The name Craftea, however comes up with an accusing “Did you mean: craft” then 2 blah blah blah pages and then my geocaching profile, with a bullet point for one of my geocoins. Finally, way down there, is my Xanga site followed by the link to Flicka’s pictures. Odd.

Thanks for the fun waste of time!

  • I have googled myself and it said that I was one of the chicken hawk girls on the movie Best little Whore house in Texas lmao :)

  • Yes, I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve googled myself once or twice before.

I have a unique last name, so it’s very easy to do it for my entire family.

RYC:  Yes, Wii is definitely a big investment.  It seems like a lot of the games have special attachments or controllers.  The standard controller is $40 each!

  • I can’t keep up with all of you let alone check on myself! LOL! Have a good week!

  • I google myself and my husbands real name, e-mail addresses and various screennames many many times and I go back to the site and erase me if I have to.   Hubbys Ex lives too close for comfort and she is on the internet alot as well.  I really don’t need for her to find us, join whatever group we are in and getting info on how we are living our lives.

    Later,

  • Yeah, every now and then I’ll do a search for myself. (That makes it sounds as if I am lost!) I can’t usually find anything on my real name, but several things with my user name!

  • My name “Rob Abdul” for the last 3 years has been my brand name.
Google has 3,360,000 results for my name Rob Abdul.
I was so proud when my name appeared in Google suggest.
It may not sound like much but at least 60 to 80 people Google me a month.
It is nice for the Ego, I must admit!
