*SIGH*
I don’t know what to post. So I’m back to the babbling blog.
Ben and I emptied out the sun room and tore the carpeting out. Then put everything back into the sun room until I decide what kind of flooring to put into it. I’m leaning towards bamboo…
Everyone knows I’m a tree hugger… well when it’s convenient… I still have that fence sitter thing going on for a lot of issues. Like Hybrid cars… don’t get me started.
Why are decisions so hard lately? Even a paint color for the walls is going to be hard. I think I’ll just stick with good old cream.
I’ve always wanted a black and white checkered floor… but I’m not sure it would be great for the resale value of the house, which is unfortunately, something we have to be thinking about right now. For reasons it would take forever to go into. It involves a whole lot more of those decisions that I have SO much trouble making.
When I was younger I spent a month once drawing my home of the future. It was going to be in a giant tree where you walked through a hidden door and down a staircase, spiral of course.
At the bottom was a limitless amount of room. I just kept adding them. I had a swimming pool, gymnasium, art room and creative center, guest rooms galore, I even put in a hockey rink just for my friend Shelly. I’m not sure I had a bathroom in the whole house, I wasn’t exactly worrying about being practical.
The best part was the bedroom. If you went up the spiral stair case, there was a room at the top of the tree, that looked out over everything I wanted to see. Not just a view, EVERYTHING I wanted to see… I could see Paris, the Eiffel Tower, Mount Olympus, I had a thing for Greek Gods, the neighbor boys skate ramp… let’s just say he was very Grecian.
Oh and the ceiling. That was probably the best. It was glass and I could see the stars through the foliage while I laid in bed or soaked in the bath. Yes, there was a bath tub, even then I was a bath fanatic, just no bathroom.
I remember spending many a night laying in the middle of the road with that same neighbor boy watching the stars and wishing I had a see through ceiling. The neighbor boy grew up to be a BIG disappointment, but the stars are still beautiful.
Well, my problem now isn’t a ceiling, its a floor. It all looked so much easier on paper when I was sketching out my little plans. Now I’m having trouble with a paint color.

Go eggshell and use accessories to add color if you’re worried about resale. I love your “tree house,” it sounds perfect. I want one, too.
RYC: I am betting the fry sauce is Chipotle Ranch Sauce. I LURVE it! Looks kinda like THIS. I especially like dipping onion rings in it.
RYC2: I’ll have to ask my friend in Utah what the heck it is then. Darn! I thought I had it!
Okay, I am told this about Fry Sauce, “All it is, is ketchup, mayo, and tiny amount of mustard. Mixed together it makes a peach colored sauce.”
hi Ang! thanks for writing….i merely cut and pasted what Randy sent…..good to know his probable source…still pretty funny, though… thanks…….peace….animal
tile?
good luck with the house work.
maybe you could pay someone to come fix it up for you?
lets see the staircase?
a glass ceiling.
transitions?
what about when its bright out?
Wow, busy, busy, huh?
I used to draw my “Dream Home” too, hhe.
Never got into wedding dresses and crap like that, like my friends did, just homes, furniture and colors.
Love you, my little tree-hugger, hehe.
Hugs,
L
I love the description of your “dream” house! It sounds absolutely wonderful and the perfect escape from the rest of the world…especially the glass ceiling. I too am feeling a bit uninspired as of late…must be something in the air. Being in the industry and also preparing to sell a home and buy a new one…I would recommend simple, neutral colors and keeping the cost simple as well depending on how long you plan on enjoying your investment and how much of it you can get back. You don’t want to throw a whole bunch of money into something that won’t add value. Keep it simple…that is my advice. Good luck!
i would love to see that drawing
i’m really upset….my mail art hasn’t arrived yet!
ryc: you’re welcome!
I like cream too. Then I can use other colors in the room and it works better.
You like to draw housplans too? I spent 15 years on the plan for the one we built. I love it, just not the location.
A. kinda like your babbling, drowns out the rest of the noise from the other cells
2. Whats wrong with hybrid cars, beside being the worst of both worlds and allowing the big companies (one of whom I work for) to milk the oil wave while delaying the power cell rides that have 0 emissions.
c. if you are going to have to sell your house soon , consult a local realtor about what colors have been in the houses that are selling now or go with a semi neutral color thats easy to paint over
Boo Ya
Your dream house sounds wonderful as does the bamboo flooring. Inside a tree…my early childhood fantasy following many hours of reading Enid Blytons Faraway Tree stories
Have a wonderful day my tree hugging friend!
Nice Imagination Ang! Sounds wonderful. Good Luck with all the decisions.
Mornin, no bathrooms equal a lot of 5 gal. buckets.LOL
I am so sorry that you are stuck with decisions that are REALLY difficult to make, but am thinking of you. For me, even the simplest things become major decisions, and I also really struggle with making the final decisions and then following through with what needs to be done – lol!
And I LOVE your imaginary house…..perhaps you need to discuss it with an architect or two and see what can be done – lol!
That house sounds like a fantastic place to go and enjoy the view … what a creative young mind you were!
Swiss Family Robinson meet the Jetsons. Sounds like a great house. have any drawings to show?
You really are a skillful and imaginative writer. And protests aside, imaginative spelling of 3, 4 & 5 letter words is nothing to be ashamed of in Boggle and Scrabble games, especially when accompanied by total confidence.
RYC: Don’t throw away trash – That would be my older daughter. lol
I’m currently struggling with some paint color decisions myself!!
I would love to see that drawing sometime– you have a great imagination!
Now that sounds like a great house!!
ryc: i’ve got a rather strange opinion of soulmates. i don’t think they’re necessarily romantic. i think you can have a soulmate who’s meant to be your best friend, one who’s meant to be lover and suchforth. i also believe your soulmate isnt’ your perfect match, but someone who could make you happier than all other possible matches.
