  • tie me up? Tie me down… definitely.

max up close.jpg This is Max. He’s our six year old Jack Russell Terror.

I know your thinking why is she showing us her dog? What’s the point… yeah we’ve seen a dog.

Here’s why. We got Max because I wanted a dog that was mine. I knew that if we waited until the kids got older any dog we had would always be theirs. Of course Mom would feed it and walk it… well you all know how that goes. So we got Max.

And yes he is mine in every sense of the word. Except when I pretend he’s Ben’s because he’s done something naughty or it’s two in the morning and he needs out or when he runs into the neighbors yard.

Alright so the dog is mine, that doesn’t mean he listens to me.

So Max isn’t so bad. He keeps me company and he herds the kids back to bed when their out after bed time. He barks so I know someone is here, and he lets me rub his ears when I need to.

But Max is a tie me down…

When I want to go I have to consider Max. Can he come? Will he be alright at home? Who will feed him? Walk him? Yup a definite tie me down. Then I started thinking about the other tie me downs we have.

There’s a hamster, three turtles, four fish, and a three monsters. Wow that’s a lot of tie me downs.

I think I need to talk to Ben about some tie me ups…

How many tie me downs do you have in your lives?

copper marker face up close.jpg This is what happens when I’m cleaning and not paying enough attention to the little monster. I thought the marker was dry, I set it on the counter and when I turned back around I had a little kitty cat. I’m guessing that is what he was going for since he kept saying meow.

I was going to say this qualifies me for the awful mother of the day award. But you know Isabelle used to cover her whole body in tiger stripes or leopard spots even sometimes before I would catch her. So I guess I get the awful mother for their life time award.

OH I’m not saying tie me downs are horrible, they just make things a little harder sometimes.

I love mine though… I could ditch the sudo rat though and maybe the fish… hmmm…

  • max is super cute.  that makes it okay for him to keep you tied down.

  • I have a lot of tie downs, my favorite are the fuzzy handcuffs!

  • Oh, Max is such a cutie!! (So is your little kitty cat!  LOL)

Don’t feel bad… my mom tells a story about her sister painting her face with black shoe polish when she was little. Mom said Grandma almost had a heart attack!  LOL

Tie me downs: 2 kids, 2 dogs, a husband, a house, and no money. LOL

  • No awards like that will be given out.  They are far too sneaky for their own good!

I’ve only got the cat and he’s a tie down if I’m gone for more than about 3 days.

  • great photo of the cat……………………..I think all parents have a picture like that (or a memory if the camera wasn’t handy)

  • Such a cute dog, although I wouldn’t have guessed he was a Jack Russell terrier.

  • They’re both little cuties….My tie downs are: 2 dogs, a wife, house a 14yr old daughter, a job, too many hobbies etc…etc…etc.

  • You already know about my weiner and pussy!!!  LOL…Nikki (the pussy) isn’t really a tie me down…but Ralphie sure is…he’s only 6mo old.

  • RYC: Thanks for stopping by and the invite.

Kids and pets tie you down in a good way too. They keep you grounded.

  • Hi there! Im just looking into getting a couple of kittens! – Im ready for a tie down..lol

  • my cats are the same way, I hate leaving them they get into trouble and get pissy if someone isnt home in 4 hours of leaving, they are brats

its cool that the shirt stayed clean, I mean that NEVER happens with kids and markers

  • A happy normal kid  equals a happy normal mama.. So no “awful moma ” award for you. Thanks for stopping by..

  • hm… tie me downs… do boys count? id say J definitely is something i have to worry about when i go away (he’s showed up at my apartment with flowers not knowing that i was in another state for a regatta that weekend)… i guess its mostly just that i usually try to tell the roommate where ill be for the night- so she doesnt worry too much if i dont come home

apparently i once dumped out all of the pieces for 14 different jigsaw puzzles onto my mothers bed once while she was changing my new baby sister’s diaper… i was also the type to glue my fingers together instead of the official group craft- just for fun kids are sneaky

  • I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 foster cat, 2 guinea pigs, 1 rat, numerous fish and three monsters!  lol  I do believe you knew this already!

  • First… did you know there is a movie called Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down. It is by Pedro Almodaovar. It was also Antonio Banderas’s American Film debut. I loved that film. And I simply adore Jack Russell Terriors or Terrors… both will work. That picture of Max makes me want to kiss the screen he is so sweet looking.

I have two cats that I would have an awfully hard time living without.

  • both you’re children are adorable.  and you will laugh about this when he is older.

  • We no longer have pets of our own. But as for tie-me-downs—we’ve inherited our grandchildren’s Hamster, fish and mantis. For us this is light duty, however after 300 raabbits and a parade of horses, cats, dogs, snakes, birds etc., etc, oh and a goat!

  • awww tie me downs..i never thought of it that way in a way my pc can be a tiw me down…so much i can do and write on  it but it can also be a delight cuz i can pactice my writing skills..lol yeah right..no really..but those pics r cute…lol..

  • Oh yes, that is why I have no pets…they are tie me downs! I’m not sure I ever will again, but we’ll see. I am a dog person…so it may happen at some point.

Oh, I didn’t post the ransom note…I found the brain…shoved down the couch. It has some crumbs on it. I think the note was a hoax…evidently.

I’ll send it over to you soon, I just have a few more crumbs to steam off. Er…maybe the steam wasn’t such a good idea…???

  • ROFL!  Love the pic.    If you knew how many times I’ve won that award, you wouldn’t even think twice.  *heh*

    Trish

  • We have two monsters and one fish. I love it when kids color on themselves. They’re so creative!

  • I feel the same way about my dogs.

  • Thanks very much for your comment. Have added you and will look forward to reading your entries. From what I saw last night, I’m well impressed already   You know what? usually I’m not as rude as I described in my last entry and would never wantonly insult others for their appearance, hell… being a lardy old moo myself, I know how that lady must have felt as my words stung her, but I’m becoming more intolerant of stupidity the older I get. Must be a ‘perk’ of being pre-menopausal. Anyhow, take care and like Arnie says, ”I will be back!”

  • Aaaaah, your tie me downs are SOOOO cute……..no pics of the tie me ups though please!

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a good day!

  • that pic reminds me of the days my kiddos were lil like that!  how cute!

  • That pic of Max just slays me. I think it is the look in his eyes. I thought you might have seen it.

RYC: Thank you so much about your comment on my mom. We have decided she must go in to assisted living…although it will now be against her will. She can’t be alone. It is heartbreaking.

  • hahah your kid is soooo cute…i dont know how many tie me downs i have…i cant think right now….o.O

  • Your kid is too cute! Great picture! (^__^)

I really want a pet dog of my own as well. Golden Retriever maybe?

  • Ok…tie me downs…1 “BIG” dog…2 cats…which reminds me…when I leave…I need to purchase an extra litter box so they each have their own    Such a cute “monster” – beautiful blue eyes….hard to call him a “monster” – lol – NO AWFUL AWARDS FOR YOU!!!

  • Well, that is certainly one beautiful kitty tying you down.  I’ve got more tie me downs that I want to think about.  Instead, I’ll think about my to do list when I have time to myself (i.e. become a literacy tutor, read more, quilt more, read more, teach yoga, read more).
