Ben and I had a date night last night… Big deal for us, since we haven’t been out without children or child since early December.
We went to see Ghost Rider.
Cheesy comic book movies… Gotta love’em. I especially enjoyed the soundtrack. Might have to purchase this one. Then we went for dinner. I over heard something else that made me go HMMMM…
It was a very busy evening. When we hit the door we asked about the wait and were told that it was fortyfive minutes. We had the hostess add our name to the list and we started to wait. At one point we were standing behind the hostess stand and I over heard one hostess say to the other “Should we be telling people it will be an hour to an hour and a half?” to which the other hostess responded “We’re never supposed to say more then forty five to fifty minutes.”
HMMM… So what if the wait is an hour and a half? Well you wait for an hour and a half because you were told forty minutes and you already invested a bunch of time… waiting. So we waited. I think it was only an hour and fifteen minutes. We had a corner bench and found ways to entertain ourselves. I took lots of pictures. I’m sure some people wanted to hurt me. It was a very dark building and my flash could have been annoying… MAYBE.
So we waited… and waited. It was all good. We were together and had fun. We had some very tasty food and then went to Borders and spent a little money on books. This morning we got up and went to breakfast without children.
SO nice. I had my own hot chocolate and no one stole my whip cream. A very nice morning. I did miss the babies a little… just a little.
These are my shoes… I like them.
I also took pictures of everyone elses shoes.
I took about fifty pictures of Ben and I but we were never in sync, either his eyes are crossed or mine are… It was good for a lot of laughs though. Funny, no one else offered to take our picture. They were probably too busy trying not to be pissed at me because my flash had burned their retinas.
Another way I entertained myself… I also tried to pick Ben’s nose and got in a bit of public public public
public groping… Hey a girl has to do what a girl has to do.
All in all a GREAT evening.

ROFL! I’m surprised they didn’t give you guys a table just to get you out of the lobby. *heh* And Nic Cage up there looks evil! I’ve been wanting to see this one.

I like your shoes too……I love to go to Borders !! I write down all the books I want to read and then go get them at the library,they order them if they do not have htem,it is a good library.
Glad you made the most of your time waiting for your table…date night, however few and far betweween are always great. Daughter C is old enough to leave at home at night by herself so the options are limitless ;o).

Nice Nic Cage pic. He really did Ghost Rider justice. Now we just hope that Ghost Rider becomes a franchise.

During the movie I kept thinking that Clint Eastwood would have made a perfect Mephistopheles ….

How did you get out without the kids and no worry of the second mortgage you were going to have to take out to pay for the sitter? I’m jealous. Glad you had a good date night, though. I like your shoes.
i wanna see ghost rider but i read the comic book for over 20 years so i’m sure i would be disapointed…i dont like nick cage either. but i do love the spiderman movies, they did an excellent job. now that i have proven i’m a nurd beyond all doubt….oh, and i’m 37 livin’ at my grandma’s so hmmmm…
good for you two going out on a date. sounds like you had alot of fun. must have been a great restaurant to be willing to wait so long

What a nice night for you two.. isn’t it always wonderful to get a chance to go out as a couple without the rugrats! I always end up missing the stinkers anyway but it is still nice. lol Chris and I are way past needing a night out so I think we are going to have to arrange a date night!

RYC: We was teaching about Elijah and the widow. So most of the questions came from that story. & at the end I had the kids come up with some questions. Kids that typically didn’t pay attention did because they didnt’ want to loose their shoes.

Date night rocks– we went to the movies last week, and while we were waiting for it to start, these girls down front took about 100 photos. I almost strangled them. LOL
I hate waiting that long for a table. I usually end up going someplace else. Did you take any pictures of the wonderful meal? Glad you had fun though,that’s what matters.

RYC: Are your monsters at home? Mine are… How come on school days I have to fight to get them out of bed… but when they should be sleeping in ther fighting over the playstation? HMMmmm… ROFL! Yeah, mine are home today. They’ve been home for nearly 2 weeks because of snow/ice shutting down schools. I am SO ready for them to go back!

You get date nights every month or two? I’m jealous. LOL! Sorry, I just had to inject a bit of reality into RizzlGrizzl’s day… Good for you, though, on making the most fun out of a boring wait to get dinner. I usually won’t wait 45 minutes unless it’s someplace I REALLY want to go. There are just too many good restaurants in the world to do that, in my opinion.
