  • Will it ever END!!!

Just got back from church today and let me tell you the natives were restless. I am a primary/sunday school teacher at our church. The kids I have are seven and eight year olds. Usually it’s not so bad we go to class have a lesson and then all the kids, about fifty of them meet in the general area for song time. Today though we were practicing for the church program so there was no class, just an hour and a half of sitting in rows and listening to kids stumble through program parts and try to sing songs that they don’t fully know. By the end the kids were getting very antsy, turning around in their seats, talking and bugging each other.Even I was tempted to smack the person in front of me just for fun. I didn’t.

I must not have had enough caffeine before I went because I was very irritable. There was a kid next to me who kept picking his nose. I sent him to the bathroom twice to get tissue and wash his hands, but he just wouldn’t stop. Finally I told him to stop or I would cut the finger off and then what would he do. He just gave me a look and said MAMA… I so need to get a recording of that, it makes me want to harass him just so I can hear him do that. I was serious about that finger thing though. Ang

  • You bad little monkey!  ;-p

  • HAHAHAAHAH….I’d cut off the kid’s finger or make him pick a good one and stick on his forehead until he left for home!

  • -but won’t caffeine make u MORE irritable?

let the kid pick his nose, it’s natural haha

  • RYC: Yeah I am tough but that is part of my charm!!!

  • Reminds me of a time when visiting a family with young kids. The young guy was picking his nose, unknown to the parents. They decided we should all hold hands for grace. Guess who was sitting next to the kid? UGGH

  • RYC  I would love to take you a ride, I bet you might say Don’t believe Mom goes this fast after all.

    Have a great week Kiddo.

  • You should pick on the kid who picks his nose.  I “pick” you

  • Um. Did you tell him his nostrils will grow too big and dispportional to his face?

Damn. I bet that one trumpet player that we saw in the band that one year MUST have sagging nostrils by now.

Call me at work later- Like around 10 ish. I will try to call you—-

    I love you.

  • Mornin

  • ewww, gross.  i would have totally lost patience in that situation.  you’re a saint.

  • hahaha!  My big girls each picked their nose one time in front of me.  Each time I saw it, I smacked their elbow upwards, sending the offending finger deeper into the abyss.  I’m not sure I would have had the control to use only words on the little guy.  Oh!  One of my neices had a little girl in her Sunday school class they called Jessica picker because she harvested boogies.  Perhaps he can be Johnny picker?

  • My husband asks kids picking their noses if they are diggin’ for gold or he tells them that the sharp tooth snail is going to bite their finger off. He is a fan of Shel Silverstein’s books. I do the same thing, tell them to go get a tissue and wash their hands! :)
